She first worked for the Old Montana Prison Museum and later at City Hall. She met Bob McNally in Deer Lodge, and they were married in 2003. She purchased the house that her great grandfather, Billy Zosel, built in Deer Lodge and started refurbishing it into a Bed and Breakfast. After suffering a stroke in 2017, she moved to Las Cruces to be closer to family. Kate was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; her parents, Cub and Virginia; brother, John Lupher; and stepson, Mark McNally. She is survived by her daughter, Elaina Aragon (Gene) of Las Cruces; sister, Sharon Lupher (Rodger St. Germain) of Junction City, Ore.; stepsons, Russell Rubert (Shaunna) of St. Anthony, Idaho, Shawn McNally (Misty) of Page, Ariz., with numerous grandchildren and great-grand children. She loved her friends in Deer Lodge and Springfield, and those who knew her well will remember that famous “Margaret Hamilton” look. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
