​Mary Anne Hansen
Mary Anne Hansen, 65.
Mary Anne Hansen peacefully passed away in her sleep at home, surrounded by her family on April 14. Mary Anne was an extraordinary mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. The foundation of her life centered on faith, family, career as a teacher, and helping others. She will be greatly missed. 
Mary Anne was born in Spokane, Wash. on May 27, 1952. She was the second of 10 children born to Jim and Mary Parker. She was raised in Shelby and graduated from Shelby High before attending Carroll College. 
She graduated with a degree in elementary education in 1974 and accepted a teaching position in Deer Lodge. She taught for three years before marrying Hal Hansen on June 18, 1977.  Their union lead to many happy years and they were blessed with eight children. 
Following their marriage, the family moved to Helmville where Hal was the foreman of a family ranch. While at Helmville, Mary Anne mastered the art of cooking for the ranch hands and her family. They resided in Helmville until 1987 when the family moved back to Deer Lodge. The years spent in Helmville were some of the happiest of her life.
Shortly after relocating to Deer Lodge, her youngest son Michael, and Hal passed away. In order to support her family, Mary Anne continued her employment as a teacher. As a single mother she raised her children, continued to advance her education by receiving her master’s degree, and found ways to serve others. She taught until retirement in 2016. After retirement, Mary Anne enjoyed spending time visiting with the morning coffee group, following daily mass and serving others through meals on wheels.
Mary Anne was most proud of her children. She spent countless hours supporting them in athletics, 4-H, and numerous other activities. Mary Anne stressed the importance of education and was pleased that her children all received a college education. 
Mary Anne was an active member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where she taught religious education, served as a lector and eucharistic minister, and attended daily mass.
She was preceded in death by her son, Michael and her husband, Hal. Survivors include children; Tom (Briana), Luke (Carlee), Brian, Craig (Kaley), Mary (Drew), Cory, and John (Megan); grandchildren Mary, Jacob, Emily, and Noah; parents Jim and Mary Parker; brothers Jim and Doug, sisters Jane (Dwight), Karen (Eric), Joan (Rock), Jeanne (Justin), Patty, Debbie, and Barbara; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Rosary will be held Friday at 7 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The funeral service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. also at the Catholic Church, with a burial and reception to follow. Memorials may be made out to the Deer Lodge Senior Center.

​Marion Marlene Meagher
Marion Marlene Meagher, 75, passed away at her home in Deer Lodge on April 9, 2018 after a short battle with an aggressive cancer. 
Marion was born on 10/10/1943. She was a kind and caring woman who lived a simple life and loved her family dearly. 
Marion was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Rose Bender, her brother Fred and Oline Bender, and her nephew Bryan Rogers. She is survived by her husband Jack, children Cindy Fah (William Haas), Patricia (Dave Lowery), Troy (Danette Belew) adopted son Corey (Sarah), sister Jane Rogers (Bill), brother Gary Bender (Melissa Gallagher), eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren whom she loved with all her heart. Marion will be greatly missed, but we are comforted at this time of sorrow knowing she is pain free and rejoicing in Heaven with her Savior Jesus Christ. 
Marion was cremated upon her request. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations may be made in Marion’s name to Frontier Home Health and Hospice, 1940 Dewey Blvd., Butte, MT 59701, 406-723-8933. 

John Harvey Hoots
Montana State Prison inmate John Harvey Hoots died on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Marias Medical Center in Shelby, following an extended illness. Mr. Hoots was 59 years old. 
Mr. Hoots was sentenced out of Yellowstone County in 2014 for the crime of Persistent Felony Offender for DUI. Mr. Hoots was sentenced to 30 years. 

​JoAnne R. Gibson
JoAnne R. Gibson was delivered onto this Earth on July 25, 1946 in Great Falls to Florence R. Coslet and Charles B. Coslet II. She passed away in Missoula on April 2, 2018 at Saint Patrick’s Hospital after a long and fruitful life. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Harry Gibson. She is survived by her siblings, Bart (Dorothy) Coslet of Montana, and Terri Coslet (Jay Smith) of Montana; cousins Judy Mossy of Montana and Dana (Vern) Petersen of Montana; children Carole Henderson of Colorado, Krista Hill (Chris Marceca) of Montana, and Jason Scott of Australia; grandchildren Jevon Moyer of Colorado, Joram Moyer (Melissa Stefanich) of Colorado, MyKayla Hill of Montana, Samuel Marceca of Montana and Taylor Madsen of Washington, along with nieces Rebecca (Chad) Philippi, Chelsea (Kitel) Chirinos, and nephew Matthew (Amy) Smith; great-nieces Jaedon, Brooklyn, Morgan and great-nephews Dylan and Sebastian. Jewell Funeral Home in Deer Lodge made all arrangements and graveside services have already occurred. A memorial will be planned by the family later this spring. 
In leu of flowers the family asks that you send a donation to Peoples Bank of Deer Lodge to assist with final bills. Any funds left over will be split among the grandchildren.
