Larry Jim Strong
Larry was born to Edward and Otelia Strong on December 20, 1942 and entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 5, 2019. Larry’s early years were spent growing up in western Montana with an older sister Doris, older brother Lee Roy (Esther), followed by sister Terri, brothers Elmer, Melvin, Dennis, Donnie, James, sisters Karen (Harold) and Linda. He married Mary Corrigan of Deer Lodge and to this union two wonderful children were born, Larry Strong (Bonnie), children Erika Olletta and Zoey Frances and Michelle Strong and her daughter Chelsea. Larry served in the Army for six years and was stationed in Brussels Belgium. His military duty was to drive a Full Bird Colonel to various duty stations in Europe. He worked at the Berkeley Pit in Butte driving heavy duty trucks and for a time at the Peabody Open Pit Mines in Kentucky. He loved camping and fishing in the mountains of Montana. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, brother Dennis, brother-in-laws Mike McGillis and Don Vincent, nephews George Vincent, David and Kevin Strong and great-nephews Bridger Strong and Brian Pankratz. He is survived by his children, grandchildren, nine brothers and sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the Deer Lodge Care Center for the wonderful care and support Larry received for the past six years of his life. Visitation will begin Thursday, April 11, at 10 a.m. at the Jewell Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with military honors to follow at the Hillcrest Cemetery. Comments are closed.
