Sheila Marie Jones
 April 12, 1946 - January 3, 2024

On Jan. 3, Sheila, 77, passed away peacefully with her sister present at the Ivy Assisted Care Facility in Deer Lodge, from natural causes.
Sheila was born April 12, 1946, in Bozeman, to Wilbur and Sandra Hinsen. On July 26, 1964, Sheila married the love of her life and best friend, Dan Jones in Bozeman. They moved to Deer Lodge in 1976, where she first worked at the Soft Touch Lounge. She then was employed at Montana State Prison for 13 years in the mailroom, as a receptionist and switchboard operator. She went on to Deer Lodge Drug for 7 years until it closed. She finished working in 2006 at the I-90 Gas Station.
Sheila enjoyed doing all kinds of crafts and collecting such things as Micky Mouse items and chicken-themed figures for her kitchen. She loved to travel; most memorable for her were trips to Disneyland with her son, Robert, and to Anchorage with her son, Jeff, to see her grandchildren. Her trip of a lifetime was to Hawaii in 2007, with Dan and all her children.
She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Every minute spent with them was a cherished memory. Christmas was her favorite holiday, especially if she had children and grandchildren home for the holidays.
Sheila is survived by her loving husband, Daniel R. Jones, and her three loving children: Kim and Dennis Morelock, Robert and Sheri Jones, and Jeff and Polly Jones. Grandchildren: Lonnie and Amanda Persons, Matthew and Kyra Persons, Ryan Jones, Jordyn Jones, Manasse Jones, Maya Jones. Great-grandchildren: Rodger, Tailynn, Jace, Alaina, Quinnlynn and Qorbin. Sister: Penny and Clint Roy.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Sandra Hinsen; brothers: Leonard and Lonnie Hinsen; and her incredibly special mother-in-law, Ella Mae Jones.
A graveside ceremony to inter the ashes will be at the Deer Lodge Cemetery at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 13. A luncheon for family and friends will follow at the Broken Arrow in downtown Deer Lodge.
Please make any donations to PAWHS; any animal shelter; or a charity of choice.

Tonya Kay (Wevley) Burt
 November 15, 1972 - December 28, 2023

Picture
Tonya K. Burt, 51, of Deer Lodge, passed away on Dec. 28. Tonya was born November 15, 1972 to Larry and Irene Wevley in Cut Bank.
Tonya attended Cut Bank High School and graduated in 1991. She was a great student, and ran track and played basketball. Tonya’s real joy was being in 4-H and her love for animals, especially horses. Going to 4-H events and county fairs was quite an ordeal. Loaded up in the family Jeep Wagoneer with kids, rabbits, goats in the back, hay bales on the roof, horse trailer in tow with whatever animals they could find. A stray sheep or dog, the neighbor’s milk cow; if it had four legs, it was going! With more than enough water on board to drown a fish, their dad said the water is not for your livestock, it’s for the jeep when it overheats, and it was off to every 4-H and county fair in High Line country.
Some of Tonya’s most enjoyable rides were at the Webb Ranch helping Jo, Mandy, Katie Alai and Amber. Whether working cows or a long trail ride, it was a good time had by all. Tonya loved taking her mom to the Big Sky Draft Horse Expo in Deer Lodge. It was a full day as they sat through every event.
Tonya began working early in life as a part time waitress in high school. During this time she became an excellent cook and worked for the Point Drive Inn and Cut Bank Senior Citizens Center. She also worked many years at the Village Restaurant, working side by side with her mom. The two had many enjoyable times and laughs over years working together.
In 2003 Tonya and her son, Coltin, found their way to Deer Lodge. Tonya went to work at Scharf’s Family Restaurant where she met her good friend and working partner Lila Roberts. They loved their coffee and breakfast crowd and made many friends over the years. Tonya also worked at the Prison Ice Cream Shop, Deer Lodge Medical Center Restaurant and Senior Citizens Center.
Tonya was preceeded in death by her parents, Larry and Irene Wevley; Aunt, Jean Anne Hardy; favorite cousin, Wes Larson.
Tonya is survived by her son, Coltin Wevley (Jasmine Oiestad), husband, Dan Burt; stepson, Billy Burt; stepfather Gary Ellingson; sisters, Tammy Smathers, Tina Henry, Tracy Kerwin and Tyleen Marchion. Nieces and nephews: Cortney Potter, Corbin Osterhoff, Amanda Beck, Samantha Ost, Brandon Michels, Morgan Wevley, MaKenzie Gooch, Gabby Garske and Sydney Marchion. Great nieces and nephews: Gracie, Katie, Josie, Kennedy, Autriesta, Nassau, Alexis, Ryker, Degan, Braxton, Armoni, Quincy, Jazzlyn, Paisley, Keegan and Annora.
Rest well and enjoy your journey, my dear; you were loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to know you.
At Tonya’s request cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held later on in the spring in Cut Bank.
