“Fulfilling a childhood dream Marjorie taught grades 1-8 at Snowshoe School near Avon on an emergency permit.  It was there that she met the man of her dreams, (Laurence Leo Beck), and they were married one year later (1947).  They made their home on the family cattle ranch in the prettiest spot in western Montana where they raised one daughter and three sons.  As a family they worked hard, loved lots & increased their holdings.  Her husband Laurence, of 47 happy years, went to be with his Lord in December of 1994 following amputations and complications of diabetes.   Marjorie counts among her blessings – the 5th generation still caring for the land and raising their families in peaceful surroundings, 11 healthy grandchildren and two (now 13) great-grandchildren, the privilege of teaching God’s word at the Avon Church Sunday School for 30 years,  and the joy of weekly volunteer work at the Deer Lodge Nursing Home.”
She is survived by her four children Laura Lee (Gary) Swant, Rick Beck, John (Lois) Beck, Tim (Tracy) Beck, 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.   Services will be at the Avon Community Church on Wednesday July 20 at 11 a.m., with a luncheon to follow at Avon Community Center.  Private family burial.
