Judith Marie (Quinlan) Stevenson
Judith Marie (Quinlan) Stevenson, 75, passed away on January 23, 2016 in Green Valley, Ariz.
Judi was born on January 8, 1941 in Deer Lodge, to Bette J. and Thomas J. Quinlan.  Her youth was spent on the family farm in the south Deer Lodge Valley. As an avid reader at a very young age, she named a 4-H lamb “Hotrod” after her favorite book.  Determined to learn to drive early on at 12 or so, she gleefully practiced on the farm trucks and tractors tearing across open fields.
She received her education in the Deer Lodge schools, graduating from Powell County High School in 1959. That fall she enrolled in Missoula at The University of Montana with her sights set on a course study in pre-law.  Academia proved unsatisfactory, and true to her head strong nature, along with a co-conspirator, she left college and Montana, ending up in Nevada waitressing at a truck stop.  Returning to Montana in the summer of 1960, Judi married her Deer Lodge beau, Adrian (Steve) Stevenson, moving first to Chicago, Ill. and Columbus, Ind. and finally to Vashon Island, Wash. in 1972 where they settled with their daughter, Heide.
Throughout the years, Judi immersed herself in the study and practice of healing arts and philosophies - the Baha’i faith, Transcendental meditation, the Bowen technique, and achieved the status of Reiki Master giving comfort to many patients and aids patients. She also expressed herself through her exceptional and creative talents in weaving, cooking, gardening and decorating.
In 2007, Judi made a life change and moved to Green Valley, Ariz. to live out her remaining years.  She is preceded in death by her former spouse (Adrian Stevenson) and is survived by her daughter Heide Stevenson, granddaughter Rachel Emery, sister Linda Quinlan and niece Quincie Albrecht.
In keeping with Judith’s request, no formal services are planned.  Condolences may be sent to Heide Stevenson at 1118 U St NW, Auburn, WA  98001.
