James E. McConnell James E. McConnell died on March 20, 2014 at Village Health Care Center after a short bout of cancer. He was born on November 6, 1946 in Lord’s Valley, Pa., to Helen Hazen McConnell and Hugh McConnell. Jim graduated from University of Scranton with a degree in physics. In California he was an electrical engineer and then started his own business in Hamilton, which he later moved to Lincoln. Jim worked on many classified contracts for the Navy. Jim married Judy Clark in Lincoln in 1985. He retired from MSE in Butte in 2011. Hunting, fishing, and camping were his passions. Jim volunteered for the fire department and as an EMT. He was also a lifelong member of the NRA. Jim is survived by his wife, Judy, stepchildren, Jason (Jenn) and Cori (Trent), grandchildren Courtney, Sam, Tim, Zurie and Todd, his aunts Lorraine Hazen, Dorothy Davis (JC), Patti Jones and numerous cousins. A Funeral Mass was held on Monday, March 24, 2014 at 11 a.m. at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Lincoln. Burial followed at the Carlton Cemetery in Florence. On March 22nd 2014, Louis “Dale” Reighard passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family at the age of 86. Dale was born December 7th 1927 to Robert E. and Marie H.(Kiner)Reighard in Terry. He grew up in Roundup and graduated from High school in 1945. After a short stint at Montana State University (ROTC) and the Navy during WWII he was discharged in 1947 and started his first career with the Milwaukee Railroad B&B crew under his Father, later taking over as Foreman after his Father retired. Dale retired after 30+ years and started his second career with the Montana State Prison as a Locksmith retiring in 1993. He married Charlotte “Fern” Davis on May 26, 1951 and from that union they had seven children. Dale loved the outdoors: fishing, hunting and camping. He was a Jack Of All Trades and Master of them All. He could do anything he put his (always working) mind to. Unknown to most, he was an exceptional artist in his retirement years. He is survived by his wife Fern (the love of his life), children Mark (Kari)Reighard of Missoula, Amy (George) Irwen of Minn., John (Connie) Reighard of Helena, Chris (Pam) Reighard of Deer Lodge, Eric (KaRena) Reighard of Helena, sister-in-laws Margaret Reighard of Roundup and Georgia (Don) Briggeman of Deer Lodge, nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren (with one on the way) and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, sons Kim and Tracy Reighard, brother Clyde Reighard, father-in-law and mother-in-law John and Alice Crary, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Joanne and Sam Whitcomb. Per Dale’s request there will be no services. Cremation has taken place.
